Historic Gardner Village Lunch & Shopping  – Gardner Village contains the outlines of the once bustling early Utah mill industry and history. What remains today is a cluster of retail specialty shops located in restored cabins, houses, and buildings nestled adjacent to the Gardner Mill. Now listed on the National Historic Register, the old flour mill is home of Archibald's Restaurant. Vintage pioneer architecture, antique fixtures, red brick paths and bridges over a pond, create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for shopping, dining, and discovering some of Utah's most colorful history. SALT LAKE CITY SIGHTSEEING

Antelope Island & Great Salt Lake - Antelope Island is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake and is home to free-roaming herds of bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and antelope. The bison are the most famous residents on the island. Today there are about 750 bison on Antelope Island, one of the largest herds in the nation. In the end of October, rangers in low-flying helicopters begin at the southern end of the island, and fly northward, hearing the bison toward the park's pens and corrals. The island provides spectacular views of the Great Salt Lake, Wasatch Mountain Range, and the Salt Lake Valley. The eastern shoreline of the Great Salt Lake is considered critical habitat for large numbers of migratory bird species that use the central flyway and the shoreline of Antelope Island offers opportunity to view numerous species.  Tour Length: 5 Hours. Salt Lake Heritage City Tour – Take a glimpse into the fascinating history of Salt Lake City, known for attractions such as Temple Square and its Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Salt Lake is a city of neighborhoods, each with their own unique personality and amazing blend of rich western history, cultural attractions, and scenic wonders. Tour includes the Utah State Capitol, This is the Place Heritage Park, the Union Pacific Depot, and Historic South Temple Street. Tours Length: 4 Hours. SOUTHERN UTAH NATIONAL PARKS / 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS

 

It would be hard to find a place in America that compares with the grandeur and beauty that Southern Utah possesses. Adventuring into Southern Utah, where the sky is clear and the landscape is breathtaking, lies an unsurpassed masterpiece of nature. DAY 1 - Saturday, October 10, 2009                          Salt Lake City to Zion National Park - Depart from Salt Lake City in the morning and begin your adventure into Southern Utah. Travel along the Western face of the Rocky Mountains toward Color Country. After lunch our first stop will be at Cedar Breaks National Monument for a preview of this mini Bryce Canyon. Cedar Breaks has spectacular views of the West Desert and the aspen and birch forest of Southern Utah. The fall colors should be on display today. Zion is Utah's oldest national park and we begin with a breif visit to the Kolob section of Zion. This seldom visited part of the park affords incredible views of Zion from above. Zion boasts some of the most colorful canyons, sheer rock walls and unique geological formatons in the Western United States. We arrive late this afternoon and will see the incredible community of St. George, Utah just outside the park.

DAY 2 - Sunday, October 11, 2009                           Zion National Park -  Today you will have most of the day to explore this fabulous canyon. With the convenient shuttle system you will have the time and freedom to hike several trails or just sightsee and shop. In the late afternoon we move onward to Bryce Canyon National Park. Rimmed by pine and aspen forests. Bryce Canyon plunges more than 1000 feet through multi-colored layers of limestone - it is one of the most amazing sights on earth. You will be fascinated by the spires and filigrees of this natural masterpiece. Tonight we overnight just outside the park ready to visit it at the most beautiful time of day, early the next morning.

DAY 3- Monday, October 12, 2009                          Bryce Canyon National Park to Salt Lake City - Today you can awake with the anticipation of seeing one of the West's most spectacular parks, Bryce Canyon. We will have time to see, photograph and take a short hike in this incredible display of nature. Morning light makes the canyon glow with color and you will have a chance to enjoy visits to everal of the view points and spend time at the new visitor center. After lunch we make our way back to Salt Lake City through the scenic Sevier River Valley. We pass through the childhood home of Butch Cassidy while winding our way through the agricultural valleys of Central Utah. You arrive back in Salt Lake City by early evening knowing that you've seen the real West!
